Meet One of VUCs Summer Interns

Meet Trenton, he is a summer intern at Valley United Co-op. Trenton attends school at Ada-Borup High school and will be a senior this fall. His hobbies include playing football, Legos, and woodworking. His friends call him “Beef Boy” because he is always out working with his cows. Trenton enjoys helping in the shop at the Ada location. He says, “I love talking to farmers when they come in and I think I can drive a forklift better than Jon and Jerry.” After high school, Trenton plans on attending the University of North Dakota for Commercial Aviation.

2024 Wheat Dilemma
The 2024 Spring Wheat harvest/crop has been challenging. Markets are near their lowest levels in 5 years. Interest rates are up substantially from a few years ago, and input costs are up. Now we are in the middle of a quality issue that is negatively impacting the value of our wheat crop.

Members of both Valley United Co-op & Thompson Farmers Elevator Company voted to merge on Wednesday, September 6th. Patrons of the Cooperative approved the merger after the boards of directors decided it would be beneficial and scheduled a vote.

The Boards of Thompson Farmers Co-op Elevator and Valley United Coop will be having informational meetings along with Special stockholder meeting(s) on September 6th. It will be 6:00 PM at the Thompson Community Center and at 8:00 PM at the KC Hall in Reynolds.
