Agronomy Operations/Halstad/Ada, MN

Agronomy Operations- Halstad/ Ada

Valley United Coop is seeking a full-time agronomy operations person in the Halstad and Ada, MN areas. This role will primarily be responsible for the maintenance of facilities and equipment as well as warehouse duties, seed treating, blending fertilizer, and some custom application. You will be working with the location manager, shop foreman, and agronomy staff to determine which duties are the highest priority on any given day. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain warehouse and accurate inventory.
  • Perform the respective services offered.
  • Treat Seed
  • Blend Liquid and Dry Fertilizer
  • Load & Record Liquid Fertilizer
  • Load and deliver wholesale products directly to farms.
  • Maintain a clean yard and facility.
  • Work as a team to demonstrate Valley United’s core values.
  • Create and complete soil samples.
  • Continue to learn and be educated in agriculture practices as well as Valley United’s product line.
  • Assist in receiving inventory.
  • Basic service of agronomy fleet including trucks, sprayers, and floater equipment
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items or safety concerns and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Help at the elevator (as needed)

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • CDL license with HazMat/tanker endorsement preferred or the ability to obtain.
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Medical Card issued by an FMCSA Certified Doctor
  • Must be able to meet all FMCSA requirements to drive a tractor-trailer.
  • Ability to work long hours during our busy season (home every night)
  • Acceptable Driving Record

Full-Time CDL Truck Driver

CDL Driver/ Grain Operations

Valley United Coop is seeking a full-time CDL driver/grain operations person. This role will primarily be responsible for the safe transport of various cargo as assigned by the location manager. You will be working with the VUC team to determine which duties are the highest priority on any given day.

  • Deliver products to customer locations.
  • Maintain a clean tractor and trailer.
  • Assist in receiving inventory.
  • Assist in order assembly and delivery of the product.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items or safety concerns and perform preventative maintenance.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Valley United Co-op is hiring a full-time heavy equipment/truck mechanic. The preferred applicant would have a minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience and possess a Class A license.   

Normal duties include:  

  • Complete preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on semis, trailers, trucks, and floaters in a timely fashion.  
  • Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles regularly. 
  • Interact with online maintenance program for dated record keeping. 
  • General knowledge about vehicles and heavy equipment. 
  • Ability to work well with others. 
  • Continue to maintain a clean & organized shop. 
  • Multitask & be flexible as spring and fall pose many challenges. 
  • Make decisions around the best course of action on several projects at once.  
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace 

Education and Experience Required: 

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

Valley United Coop is seeking full-time grain operations person. This role will primarily be responsible for the safe handling and management of grain and other duties as assigned by the grain operations manager or elevator manager. You will be working with the entire VUC team to determine which duties are the highest priority on any given day. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload customer and outgoing trucks
  • Maintenance and cleaning of elevator facility
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Deliver grain or fertilizer to customer locations
  • Maintain a clean tractor and trailer 
  • Assist in cleaning grain bins
  • Assist in receiving dry fertilizers
  • Possible application of fertilizer to varied crops based on customer orders

IT Support Specialist

IT Support Specialist

Job Summary

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, systems maintenance, and end-user assistance across the organization. This role requires hands-on experience with iPads, Microsoft Office 365, network infrastructure (including Meraki firewalls and access points), SSL certificate management, and automation or scripting tools such as VBA or Tableau. The position also involves physical work, including running, installing network cable, and climbing ladders or accessing elevated work areas when necessary.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of supporting a diverse technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Configure, manage, and support iPads and other mobile devices, including enrollment, security, and application deployment.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and user accounts.
  • Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Manage SSL certificates, including installation, renewal, validation, and troubleshooting certificate-related issues.
  • Install, terminate, label, and test network and low-voltage cabling.
  • Climb ladders and access ceilings, walls, racks, and other elevated or confined spaces to install or repair IT and network equipment.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure projects, including office moves, expansions, and hardware refreshes.
  • Develop, maintain, or support automation and reporting solutions using VBA and/or Tableau.
  • Assist with system updates, patching, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, cabling layouts, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and coordinate upgrades or repairs.
  • Support IT projects such as system implementations, upgrades, and security improvements.
  • Follow IT security, safety, and organizational standards and best practices.
  • Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in an IT support or help desk role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting iPads and mobile device management (MDM).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 administration.
  • Experience with Meraki networking equipment, including firewalls and wireless access points.
  • Experience managing and maintaining SSL certificates.
  • Working knowledge of VBA and/or Tableau for automation, data analysis, or reporting.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management (ITSM) tools.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Experience with IT ticketing or ITSM systems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco/Meraki certifications.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office, warehouse, and on-site environments.
  • Regularly required to climb ladders, work at heights, and access ceiling spaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and install IT and networking equipment (typically up to 40 lbs).
  • Manual dexterity to handle cabling, tools, and small hardware components.
  • Occasional after-hours or on-call work may be required.
